Attic thermal insulation 'can save people lots of money'
Ensuring a loft space is thoroughly lagged with thermal insulation can help homeowners to significantly reduce their energy bills.
This is according to home improvement contractor Jason Gurskis, who described in an article for Fox News how many properties need more materials to prevent heat waste.
He explained that between 30 and 40 per cent of a house's warmth can be lost through the roof if it is poorly insulated and therefore preventing this can "drastically reduce" outgoing costs.
As a result, it was suggested that people take a look at their current thermal insulation and consider laying additional lagging if they can see the floor joists.
Finally, he concluded: "This is the perfect time of year to add insulation to your attic. With the mild weather upon us you will not roast up in the attic as you work."
In a separate article for the publication, Mr Gurskis recently commented that it is important to carry out home improvement work before the winter sets in.
