Plans submitted for £150m housing project
A proposal for a new housing development project has been submitted to Dundee City Council.
Plans have been drawn up for £150 million to be invested into building 228 new homes in the Western Gateway area of the city.
It marks the first step in the development of a new village at South Gray, after local residents and the council were both consulted about the idea.
The proposal includes plans to make the homes, which will have between two and five bedrooms each, as energy efficient as possible.
Planner Sandra Linsday said: "We are taking design inspiration from the surrounding villages and applying the latest techniques in energy efficient build design."
A football park and play area will also be included in the new development, as suggested by local residents, while it is hoped that as many as 600 new houses will be constructed eventually.
It is expected that 100 jobs could be created through this project.
