Scottish homeowners offered wall insulation upgrades

Thermal insulation devices are being offered to homeowners around Scotland, who are being urged to contact the Home Energy Scotland Hotline.

Loft and cavity wall insulation are being provided to members of the public under the Universal Home Insulation Scheme and by telephoning 0800 512 012, people can discover the upgrades they are eligible for.

Director of fuel poverty charity Energy Action Scotland recently urged those who think they may be able to receive these refurbishments to "call the government's helpline for more information".

The Scottish parliament recently revealed a £12.5 million budget for this project and opened it up to 200,000 domiciles across the country.

On October 20th, the 30,000th renovation took place under this policy and this was marked by cabinet secretary for infrastructure and capital investment Alex Neil, who said: "With winter fast approaching, having the correct levels of insulation installed in a home is one of the easiest ways to keep warm and save money on fuel bills."
