Solid wall insulation provided to 800 Aspley homeowners
Solid wall insulation is to be fitted to more than 800 properties in Nottingham as part of the Aspley Super Warm Zone scheme.
Frank Haslam Milan is undertaking the project on behalf of the local authority and Nottingham City Homes, with some of the funding coming from the Community Energy Saving Programme.
It is thought these renovations can cut the average annual fuel bill by up to 25 per cent as warming devices such as under floor heating can be turned down.
Thermal insulation in the loft space and internal wall insulation have also been provided through this scheme, with all works performed for free.
Bill Findlay - one of the benefactors of this policy - said: "Previous winters have felt very cold but this year we're going to be a lot warmer and I'm sure we'll notice a significant difference in our household bills."
He explained his household is concerned about money in a way it has never been before, as fuel prices have risen dramatically in recent years.
