How to install sound reduction boards?

The first step is to place the boards rubber-side down on to the floor, leaving a gap between the edge of the boards and the wall, which you then fill with a visco-elastic adhesive to make sure no sound can escape here.

After you have installed the boards, go over the joints with S/A waterproof tape and then tile as normal; this will ensure that your floor is entirely waterproof, as well as soundproof.
