Thermal insulation 'can help attract property buyers'
People hoping to sell their home have been advised that installing solid wall insulation could help to attract buyers.
This is according to an article in the Independent, which provided readers with tips on how to make their properties appeal to individuals.
It was suggested that by "updating your home's green credentials", a house may sell easier in the current economic climate.
"Buyers are now far more aware of energy costs and will be appreciative of improvements such as insulation in the walls, floor and roof," the news source commented.
Speaking to the paper, Susan Jones, the energy efficiency advice manager at the Energy Saving Trust (EST), explained that thermal insulation could reduce heat loss by a third and, on average, can be fitted for £250.
The EST is a body that is partially funded by the government and aims to provide impartial advice on saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.
