Marmox Marks 25 Years with a Silver Jubilee Celebration at the Big Cat Sanctuary
Marmox recently celebrated a remarkable milestone: 25 years in business. To mark the occasion, around 50 members of the Marmox team and their families gathered at the Big Cat Sanctuary in Headcorn, Kent, for a day of relaxation, reflection, and a few surprises.
The day began with guided tours, where guests came face to face with some of the world’s most impressive big cats – including lions, tigers, pumas, jaguars, cheetahs and leopards. After the tour, everyone gathered for a buffet lunch, where the company’s founder, Harry Parsons, cut a specially made cake decorated with the Marmox logo. Harry took a moment to share a few words about “how it all started,” tracing Marmox’s journey from its earliest days to the present.
Adding to the celebrations, Managing Director Sarah Viney, Business Development Director Johnathan Parsons, and Finance Director Richard Kent-Smith presented certificates to several long-serving employees, recognising their dedication and contribution over the years. As a special thank you, each guest also discovered a lottery ticket placed under their glass at the dining table. At the end of the day, three lucky winners were given the unforgettable opportunity to feed the tigers.

Looking Back – and Forward
Reflecting on Marmox’s journey, Sarah highlighted some of the company’s key developments over the last decade.
“It was a decade ago that we introduced Thermoblock to tackle cold bridging at places like the floor/wall junction, with their concrete mini-columns ensuring structural continuity. It took a while for specifiers to see the advantages under SAP, but now we’re seeing strong sales into housebuilding. The range is now set to welcome a fire-rated version, pending final BBA certification.”
Sarah also spoke about newer additions to the Marmox product family:
“Still relatively new to Marmox UK are the Fireboards. These have attracted plenty of interest at exhibitions, as they’re a unique Class 1 non-combustible product. Sales are starting to grow, and Fireboard helps address requirements from the new Building Safety Act and building insurers’ concerns.”
“Of course, our original launch product – Multiboard – continues to hold a strong position in the tiling market. And we’re growing our wetroom offering too, adding new trays with a new style of drain, wash basins, shelves and new niche sizes.”

A Strong Team and an Evolving Industry
While Marmox remains a family-run business, Sarah emphasised the importance of the wider team, many of whom have stayed with the company for years. This stability, she noted, positions Marmox well for the future – particularly as the industry moves increasingly towards off-site fabrication, an area where Marmox is well prepared to respond.
After a memorable day at the Big Cat Sanctuary, the Silver Jubilee celebration offered the Marmox team a chance to look back at what’s been achieved over the past 25 years – and look forward to what comes next.
